Hot Yoga
Hot yoga can describe any type of yoga being performed in a heated room. Although it does tend to be taught in a flowing vinyasa style of practice in which the teacher instructs students in a series of linked poses. As you can imagine, a vigorous yoga session at high temperatures will make the body very warm causing you to sweat. The intent is that the heat loosens your muscles and the sweat helps cleanse your body.
Benefits
Think of hot yoga like a detox. You will sweat heavily, though this profuse sweating will help rid your body of toxins. Similarly, the sweat will also help to detoxify your skin. The sweat pulls the toxins out of your pores, leaving your skin looking and feeling refreshed. Say goodbye to the face masks and pore strips – hot yoga is an all-natural way to cleanse and detoxify your pores, leaving you with a radiant, hydrated complexion for a fresh and youthful appearance.
Not only this, but the act of warming the muscles via the heat will actually loosen them slightly, allowing you to settle a little deeper into your asanas and enabling ease of movement through the transitions.
Your movements will be easier, but on the other side of the coin, the workout will be more intense. The heat will elevate your heart rate giving you a more intense workout and allowing you to burn more calories.
For those with asthma, hot yoga can be incredibly beneficial for breathing. And for those who simply want to take a deep breath? Enjoy!
Hot yoga is a great way to not only detox your mind and body but also to improve your overall performance off the mat. Hot yoga is a great complement to your strength training regimen and can help you improve your overall physical prowess. It will increase your range of motion, stretch tight muscles and tendons, and strengthen your body overall.
So, let’s get sweating!
